Drug Dependence Treatment

The symptoms of serious drug dependence, such as heroin withdrawal, can often be uncomfortable and unpleasant. Heroin is actually one of the more difficult addictions to treat, and the symptoms of heroin withdrawal tend to be more severe than with other substances. Agitation, decreased appetite, bone and muscle aches, drug cravings, restlessness, cold flashes, vomiting, poor sleep and nightmares are some of the more common symptoms of heroin withdrawal. Medical supervision is always recommended for heroin detoxification, and other interventions are required to overcome the addiction fully.

That said, ending any kind of drug dependence or substance abuse requires assistance, especially during the first and second stages of detoxification. For instance, the immediate symptoms experienced by a severe alcoholic who stops drinking can be quite distressing. These can even include hallucinations, tremors, fever and convulsions.

Heroin Withdrawal and in-Home Detox

You can detoxify from heroin, opiates, alcohol and ketamine at home, but it is best done early on in the addiction process. The longer you've struggled with a heroin or opiate addiction, the harder it is to treat, and it is more likely that your symptoms will be severe. Angels of Victory has the resources to help you effectively manage an in-home detox from ketamine, opiates and other drugs. Because we offer a medically supervised program and have a support system in place, our clients are able to deal with the more challenging aspects of drug recovery. We are also able to monitor your health throughout the detox process. As part of the withdrawal, it is normal to experience elevations in your blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate and temperature. A nurse assistant will be with you 24 hours a day to check these vital signs and make sure that your health is not at risk.

Serious addiction always requires medical support. For the best chance at recovery, look for a medically supervised in-home program.
