Heroin Addiction Treatment

Although heroin addiction is one of the more difficult addictions to treat, heroin withdrawal can safely take place at home, provided that you have the necessary medical supervision. In the detox stage of treatment, heroin withdrawal symptoms can be so severe that many patients do not successfully stay off the drug. While symptoms are unpleasant, however, they do not tend to be dangerous, and heroin withdrawal is considered safer than detox from alcohol.

Treating Heroin Withdrawal

Methadone is a drug often used in the treatment of heroin addiction. Methadone itself is addictive, and abruptly stopping treatment can cause withdrawal symptoms. At Angels of Victory, our medical team can prescribe the right medication to help you minimize heroin withdrawal symptoms, without putting you at risk for other addictions.

Angels of Victory will also provide you with the necessary support to overcome the challenges of detoxification. Whether you are recovering from heroin or alcohol addiction, we can help you detoxify in the comfort and privacy of your own home. Unlike traditional rehab centers, Angels of Victory does not require you to stay at an in-patient facility, attend daily classes or participate in group meetings. While we do encourage patients to seek counseling, we also understand the need to continue living your life throughout the recovery period. An in-home detox program allows you to go through the withdrawal process efficiently and privately and then return to your work, family and community commitments while you continue the course of recovery.
