Home Drug Detox for Opiate Addiction

Codeine, Darvocets, Demerol, Dilaudid, Hydrocodone, Methadone, Morphine, Oxycontin, Percocet, Percodan etc...

Opiate:
Can be a medication or illegal drug, which is derived from either the opium poppy, or a synthetic opiate that mimics the effect of an opiate, and, being highly addictive, home drug detox is often required to treat heavy users. Opiate drugs are narcotic sedatives that depress activity of the central nervous system that reduces pain and induces sleep. Side effects may include over sedation, nausea, and constipation. Long-term use of opiates can produce addiction, and overuse can cause overdose or potentially death. Opiate addiction is very difficult to kick, but not life threatening. Home detox is often necessary. The withdrawals are similar to the withdrawals from heroin.

Codeine:
A member of the opiate drug family. Opiates include all naturally occurring drugs such as codeine and all other semi and synthetic drugs having the same effects as morphine, heroin and meperidine (Demerol).

Opiate Drug Addiction

Darvocets:
Using darvocets is similar to taking methadone and it is no surprise that the drug is as addictive as it is. In fact, the medical journal Clinical Pharmacology even argued, that darvocet’s are considerably addictive” and may require home detox.

Demerol:
Demerol is a narcotic and analgesic opiate pain medication, prescribed for short-term treatment for moderate or severe pain. Home detox is recommended for addiction.

Dilaudid:
Dilaudid’s preparations are similar to those containing morphine, but are stronger and have fewer side effects.

Hydrocodone:
Hydrocodone is an effective antitusive (anti-cough) agent, which is also an opiate. This medication is an effective analgesic for mild to moderate pain control. Home detox may be necessary with prolonged use.

Methadone:
A synthetic opiate that when administered once a day (orally) in adequate doses, it can usually suppress a heroin addict’s craving and withdrawal for up to 24 hours, but it itself is highly addictive and home detox may be necessary to wean a user off the drug.

Morphine:
A narcotic, acts directly on the central nervous system. Besides relieving pain, it impairs mental and physical performance, and addiction to this drug may require a home detox treatment. It relieves fear and anxiety and produces euphoria.

Oxycontin:
Contains oxycodone, a very strong narcotic similar to morphine. Oxycontin is designed so that the oxycodone is slowly released over time, allowing it to be used twice a day. You should never break, chew or crush an oxycontin tablet since this causes a large amount of oxycodone to be released from the tablet all at once, potentially resulting in a dangerous or fatal drug overdose. Home detox is highly recommended for treating addiction to this drug.

Percocet:
It's active ingredients are oxycodone, a narcotic opiate pain medication (analgesic) and acetaminophen (a non-narcotic pain medication), which relieves pain better than either medication taken alone. Oxycodone acts on the central nervous system and smoothes muscle tissue, slowing the central nervous system. It is not clear exactly how acetaminophen works to ease pain, and home detox might be needed to treat addiction.

Percodan:
Percodan is a narcotic drug, that when injected the user feels a surge of pleasure, then a state of gratification into hunger, pain and sexual urges do not intrude. Home detox should be sought to treat addiction.
